Hunting got added to March of Empires a couple of releases back.
There are 4 types of tiles that have resources, and they are:
- Forest
- Plain
- Mountain
- Rocky Woods
On the tiles that are lucky enough to have the hunting symbol on them, they will have a quality of the tile:
- Exceptional
- Rich
- Plentiful
- Great
- Fair
- Sparse
- Barren
The further down the quality list, the less likely you are to get food from the tile, and you will get less.
My experience has shown that the tiles will allow you to gather the following types of resources, and I've classified the amount you get as well.
I have classified them as
- High (pretty much guaranteed to get some regardless of the quality)
- Medium (Plentiful or better will have these, lower tiles)
- Low (You might get some of these on Plentiful or better)
The table is:
